Diverse Learning Environments

Infants

(ages 0 --> 18 months)

Our Infant classroom is licensed for 10 children between the ages of (0 – 18 months). The Educator to child ratio in this classroom is 1 educator to 3 children (1:3). The infant room provides a flexible schedule where individual routines are followed. Educators focus on providing a safe, loving and stimulating environment to promote security and trust as well as a place where infants can observe, explore and interact.  Play is one of the most crucial part of a child’s development and children are encouraged in a self-directed play.  With the guidance of educators, children independently explore and discover their surroundings using their five senses through art, literature, music, science and active engagement to develop their communication skills (non-verbal/verbal) and other skill sets such as self-help and physical development.

Toddlers

(ages 18 months --> 2 ½ years)

Our Toddler classroom is licensed for 15 children between the ages of (18 months to 2 ½  years). The Educator to child ratio in this classroom is 1 educator to 5 children (1:5). The Educators engage the Toddlers in age appropriate activities to feed their curiosity for learning and encourage each child to become self-reliant to foster independence. By engaging the children in age appropriate planned and spontaneous activities based on their curiosities, the children can truly explore learning in a meaningful way. Our Toddler room allows a child to flourish in wonders as it provides children with a nurturing and acceptable risk-taking environment where they can build skill sets, but more importantly, develop a sense of self and belonging.

Preschool

(ages 2 ½  --> 4 years)

Our centre has two licensed preschool rooms which provides spaces for 24 children between the ages of    2 ½ years - 4 years. Our junior preschool classroom is licensed for 16 children with an educator to child ratio of 1 educator per 8 children (1:8). The senior preschool classroom is licensed for 8 children with the same educator to child ratio as the junior preschool room (1:8). The Preschool classrooms provide an environment that allows excitement in their learning that develop skills that the children can apply in everyday life. Our educators strive to engage children in a program that encourages and promotes communication and self-regulation skills (that are crucial for social interactions in preschoolers) through meaningful and engaging conversations and planned activities. Educators ensure that these activities and conversations are based on the children’s curiosities, interests, encouragement of open-ended explorations, problem solving through trial and error, investigations and experiments.
