Knob Hill Day Nursery incorporates children’s interests, questions and conversations, observations, strengths and developmental needs as the basis for our programming each week. We ensure that our program enhances the development of the whole child (including Dramatic or pretend play, Sensory. Art/creative, Cognitive, Music and Movement, Language and Literacy, Science and Nature, Cultural, Physical, Small group learning opportunities, Self-help, Outdoor, Learning in routines, Construction and Planning with families and Communities). The educators foster this by ensuring that they provide learning experiences that are meaningful, developmentally appropriate and provide programming for individuals as necessary. A developmental checklist is also used as another tool to help foster development in children and promote the Centre’s philosophy of viewing each child as unique and an individual. 

 

Knob Hill Day Nursery uses the childcare app “HiMama” to record activities and to document updates throughout the day (meals, diaper changes/washroom, sleep, photos and videos, etc.).  The center’s menu and weekly program can also be accessed through the App.
